Uniform Information

The Public Museum School falls under the GRPS Uniform Policy. Families can purchase black or white uniform shirts with the school logo through the vendor Screen Ideas. The website to order uniforms is available here.


Parent-Teacher Community Council

Every parent is encouraged to participate in monthly PTCC meetings and happenings throughout the year. The role of the Council will be to organize special events, fundraising, grant writing and excursion volunteer management. 



Students entering 6th, 7th, 8th or 9th grade in the fall of 2018 are invited to apply for enrollment in  the Grand Rapids Public Museum School. The application process is open to any interested students, including those not currently enrolled in  Grand Rapids Public Schools and those living outside the City of Grand Rapids.

A Theme School/Center of Innovation application is required for the Public Museum School. Applications are available at the following:

Applications for fall 2018 are due January 31, 2018. Late applications will be accepted but are subject to a waiting list. 60 seats are available for 6th grade.  If the number of applicants exceeds the number of seats available, students will be selected by a random lottery among applicants residing within GRPS boundaries. Second-round lottery picks and/or waitlist positions will be open to GRPS and non-GRPS residents.

Families of students who are selected to attend the Public Museum School will be required to participate in an interview and sign a School-Parent-Student Compact, which outlines expectations for each of those partners in the learning process. This ensures that students and parents are aware of the school’s expectations and understand what it takes to be successful in the school’s learning environment.

Once a student is accepted to the Public Museum School, they do not need to reapply each year.
